Starting off as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Philip Muscott wanted to dig deeper into his curriculum – seeking to give his students a solid purpose to their learning. Through [Understanding by Design](https://www.eduplanet21.com/understanding-by-design/) (UbD), his questions were answered. Now as the Head of Curriculum for the School, Philip continues his work in UbD as well as the infusion of Habits of Mind – facilitating a synergy between knowledge, skills understandings and cognitive traits, to be transferred to authentic performance assessments.
