Before rolling out UbD into their entire district, Christina Wotton, Director of Instruction, gathered a volunteer group of teachers to learn about Understanding by Design (UbD) and mapped out a 4-year curriculum cycle to begin implementing and rolling out their new strategy. In order to get everyone on board and allow their opinions and voices to be heard, Wotton created transparent email communications to everyone in the school district, allowing them to see everything going on and involving them in each step of the process.
