Starting off as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Philip Muscott wanted to dig deeper into his curriculum – seeking to give his students a solid purpose to their learning. Through Understanding by Design (UbD), his questions were answered. Now as the Head of Curriculum for the School, Philip continues his work in UbD as well as the infusion of Habits of Mind – facilitating a synergy between knowledge, skills understandings and cognitive traits, to be transferred to authentic performance assessments.
